Why was the explosion?
It is being reported that the air-conditioning compartment of a warship weighing about 4,000 tonnes caused an explosion, which was probably due to a leakage of freeon gas. Due to the explosion, the crew members were seriously injured, who were immediately admitted to INHS Ashwini Hospital in Colaba for treatment. At the time of the explosion, there were about 300 naval riders on the ship.
Was provided wrong gas
After the incident, the Board of Inquiry was formed to investigate the causes of the explosion and the samples of the AC unit were sent to Center for Fire, Explosive, and Environment Safety (CFEES), DRDO, New Delhi, in addition to IIT Bombay. The FIR states that the explosion occurred because the gas supplier provided wrong types of gas, causing trouble in the unit and this blast. Actually, the unit was to use free -on R22 gas … but the company supplied the free -on R152A instead of which was found during the trace test.

Three marines who lost their lives in that blast were identified by Krishna Kumar (46), Surinder Kumar (47) and A.K. It was in the form of Singh (38). At present, the investigation of the case is still going on, and in the coming days, police officers can also interrogate private company officials. A case has been registered under the Indian Penal Code 1860..304 A and 437 at the Colaba police station.
