Bollywood’s famous on-screen mother and late actress Nirupa Roy was born on January 4, 1931 in Valsad, Gujarat. Today is his 93rd birth anniversary. She appeared in many films and became famous as the on-screen mother of many heroes including superstar Amitabh Bachchan, due to which she was called the ‘Mother of Bollywood’. Nirupa Roy, who was famous for the role of ‘mother’ in films, started her film career with Gujarati films. In his five decade long career, he acted in approximately 300 films. Before coming into films, Nirupa’s real name was Kanta Chauhan.
