Budget 2025: Government employees expect salary increase! Government will announce in the budget – budget 2025 central government employees will get salary hike green signal on fitment factor fm nirmla sitharaman pm modi

Budget 2025: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the country’s budget on 1 February 2025. This time’s budget is expected to be special for everyone. People want that this budget not only strengthens the economy but also brings more money into the pockets of the common man. Especially the government employees have high expectations from the budget this time, because they have been demanding to increase the fitment factor for a long time. This budget is the first full budget of the third term of the Modi government. It is believed that this time the government can give a big increase in the salary of central employees. Central employees have been demanding for a long time to increase the fitment factor and bring the 8th Pay Commission. This will increase their salary and will help in dealing with inflation.

What is fitment factor?

Fitment factor is a formula which decides the basic salary of central employees. On the basis of this, Dearness Allowance (DA) and other allowances are also decided. If the fitment factor increases then the salary of government employees will automatically increase. The fitment factor was last increased in 2016. Then the minimum basic salary was increased from Rs 6,000 to Rs 18,000. This time it is expected that it can be increased to Rs 26,000. By increasing the fitment factor, the salary of central employees will increase.

How much will the salary increase?

Due to the possible increase in fitment factor, the minimum basic salary of government employees may increase from Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000. That means there will be a direct increase of Rs 8,000 in the salary of the employees.

Dearness allowance will also increase

With increase in basic salary, dearness allowance (DA) will also automatically increase. Currently DA is 53% of the basic salary. If the basic salary becomes Rs 26,000 then DA will also increase in the same proportion. DA in the country is increased twice a year on 1 January and 1 July. DA increase can be announced anytime but its increase is considered to be applicable from January 1 and July 1 only. This will result in a significant increase in the total salary of the employees.
