The Tirupati Temple Trust in Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh has received one crore rupees in donations. A devotee from Chennai has done this donation especially for the plan to eat free food for devotees. A devotee from Chennai donated Rs 1 crore to SV Annaprasadam Trust of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) on Friday. Venkatesh Kannapan donated this amount to Additional Executive Officer of TTD CH Venkaiah Chaudhary at Ranganayakula Mandapam as a demand draft.
The temple body said in an official press release, “Kannapan has donated Rs 1 crore to TTD’s SV Annaprasadam Trust.” Former CM NT Rama Rao launched Venkateswara Nitya Annadanam Santosh Yojana to serve free food to 2,000 pilgrims per day in 1985. Later, in 1994 it was converted into an independent Trust called Sri Venkateswara Nitya Annadanam Trust and in 2014 it was converted into Sri Venkateswara Annaprasadam Trust.
Get free food three times a day
This trust, which comes from donations from all over the world, accumulate funds in national banks and the interests on them run the cost of serving food to the devotees. It pays beverages to thousands of devotees at no charge and serves food thrice a day.

Its headquarters is in Tirumala, Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh.
