This courageous action of the Indian Army has filled the entire country with enthusiasm. India also retaliated on many cities of Pakistan including Lahore and Sialkot. Now, amidst the tense situation on the border, its impact is also seen in the cinema world. Many Bollywood filmmakers are eager to bring the story of the attack on nine terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir on 7 May 2025. How much a stir is there in Bollywood about ‘Operation Sindoor’, it can be gauged from the fact that there are 15 Bollywood studios and filmmakers in the race to register the title. This operation was the reply to the Pahalgam terror attack, killing 26 people.
Who included in the race?
According to the report of Bollywood Hungama, to tell the story of politics, thrill, army courage and female power, Mahavir Jain’s company first gave an application to register ‘Operation Sindoor’ title. After this, filmmakers and directors Madhur Bhandarkar and Ashok Pandit also joined the race. BN Tiwari, president of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), said that so far more than 15 applications have been received for ‘Operation Sindoor’ and the title will be decided soon.

The race to register the title of Operation Sindoor reflects the tradition of Bollywood, where films based on patriotic and military campaigns like Uri: The Surgical Strike and Sher Shah have won the hearts of the audience. Now the Bollywood film makers are desperate to present the courage and female power of the army to the audience through Operation Sindoor.
Importance of Operation Sindoor
Operation Sindoor began on the night of 7 May 2025 and lasted for 25 minutes, destroying nine terrorist bases from 24 missiles. These included hideouts of organizations like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed. 70 terrorists were killed and 60 injured in the attack. India clarified that the attack was an accurate and non-existence, in which Pakistani military bases were not targeted. The operation was performed on 22 April in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
Enthusiasm in Bollywood over Operation Sindoor
Many Bollywood stars have already expressed happiness about Operation Sindoor and now the excitement of making a film on this operation on film makers is at its peak. Directors like Madhur Bhandarkar want to make a film on this operation. Given the success of films like Border (1997) and Raji (2018), producers believe that Operation Sindoor can also draw the audience to theaters. This news has also created a stir on social media.
