Indian bowling weakened in the absence of Bumrah and Australia won the match by 6 wickets, capturing the series and securing their place in the final of the World Test Championship.
Team India in tension due to Bumrah’s injury
Meanwhile, a big update has come out regarding Jasprit Bumrah’s back injury. According to the information, Bumrah’s injury is related to the workload in the Test series against Australia. In such a situation, the BCCI medical team is trying to ensure that Bumrah can be prepared for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 because his playing in the tournament is very important for Team India. In the 5-match Test series against Australia, Jasprit Bumrah bowled more than 150 overs and took 32 wickets.
According to sources close to the development, PTI reported that the grade of Bumrah’s back spasm is not yet known. If Bumrah’s injury is in the Grade 1 category, at least two to three weeks of rehab will be required before he can return to play. In case of a Grade 2 injury, recovery may take 6 weeks while Grade 3, which is the most serious in nature, requires at least three months of rest and a rehabilitation program.
May miss India-England series
It is noteworthy that the 5-match T20I series between India and England is going to start from January 22. After this, a 3-match ODI series will be played between the two teams from 6th February. After the ODI series, the Indian team will participate in the Champions Trophy from February 20. In such a situation, Bumrah’s injury has put Team India in tension. If Bumrah is out due to injury even for 1 month, he may miss the ODI series against England. If his injury becomes more serious, he may be in danger of being out of the Champions Trophy.
