Capital Market Regulator SEBI said on Monday that it has settled 4,371 complaints in March 2025 through its Grievance Redressal Facility Forum Scores. According to SEBI data, the number of complaints pending till 28 February was 4,376. According to PTI news, the three complaints related to Madhuvir Com 18 Network Limited and Nikhil Dayanand Baljekar were pending for more than three months on the scores by the end of March. SEBI has done well at the complaint settlement last month.
Till 31 March, a total of 4,161 complaints were unresolved
According to the news, SEBI received 4,156 new complaints in March 2025 and till March 31, a total of 4,161 complaints were unsolved. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) said this in a public notice on 11 April. The regulator also stated that the average solution time taken by the institutions to submit the action report (ATR) in March was nine days. It was reported that under the upgrade scores 2.0 structure, complaints are sent to the organization concerned in an automatic manner, which is given 21 days to submit the ATR to the investor.
These provisions are for investors
According to the current provision, investors can opt for first-level review within 15 days if dissatisfied. During this period, complaints remain in the pending list, even if the ATR has been deposited. If the investor is dissatisfied, they can carry the matter forward for a second-tier review by SEBI, in which the same time limit will apply for the solution. Also, if the investor selects the option of online dispute redressal (ODR) system, complaints can also be settled.
Scores were designed because of this
SEBI said that till March 31, three complaints related to two institutions on the scores were pending for more than three months. The scores launched in June 2011 were designed to help investors to lodge their online complaints with SEBI against securities market -related companies, middlemen and market infrastructure institutions. In April last year, SEBI launched the new edition of the platform, scores 2.0 with additional facilities.
