Two-wheeler vehicles toll tax: From July 15, 2025, a new rule is going to be implemented for bikers and scooters. Now two-wheeler trains will also have to pay toll tax on the National Highway. Till now the toll tax was charged only by cars, buses and trucks like four -wheelers or bigger vehicles. According to media reports, according to the new instructions of the government, now two-wheelers will also have to pay tax on toll plazas.
How did you get a discount earlier?
Whenever a two-wheeler vehicle was purchased, toll tax was already included in its price. For this reason, they did not have to pay separate money at the toll plaza. But now this discount is ending. Now it will be mandatory to pay toll tax to all two-wheeler drivers.
Fasttag will be important
The government has said that it will be necessary to install fasttags for two-wheeler trains. This rule will be applicable from July 15. Now whenever a bike or scooter passes through the toll plaza, the money will be deducted automatically through the fasttag. This will increase transparency in toll collection, reduce traffic and will ease the government.
The government is going to run awareness campaign to easily provide fasttag facilities in rural areas. So that people can get fasttags on time and do not have to face any problem.
If the rules do not agree, then a fine of Rs 2000 will be imposed
If a two-wheeler driver does not get a fasttag or tries to avoid toll tax, he will be fined Rs 2000. Apart from this, if someone misuses fasttag, such as an expired or wrong category tag, then a penalty of Rs 2000 will still be charged.
The government has also said that in the beginning people will be given time to understand and install fasttags. For this, a ‘Grace Period’ will be given which will be about 30 days. During this time people will get a chance to put fasttag without penalty.
Government preparations for following rules
The government is taking several steps to make this entire change a success. Media campaigns, hoardings, online guides and customer helpline will be run to inform people about the rules. Also, with the help of ground staff on the toll plaza, the two will be given correct information.
Fasttag will also be fined for not getting fastened, using wrong toll lane, or imposing damage fastg. Therefore, the government’s advice is that all two-wheeler drivers should get fasttags in time and follow the toll tax rules.
