Karnataka’s 14 -year -old swimmer Desinghu dominates, new record in National Games

Karnataka swimmers Srihari Natraj and Dhinidhi Desinghu strengthened the dominance in the 38th National Games on 38th National Games with their seventh gold medal in the men’s and women’s category respectively. Both swimmers are on the path of becoming the best male and female players of these games. Fourteen -year -old Desindhu achieved a new record of these games with a time of four minutes and 24.60 seconds in women’s 400 meter freestyle. He then won the gold medal with a time of three minutes and 41.03 seconds in a four -x 100 meter mixed freestyle event with Nataraja and two other swimmers. The other two members of the team were Akash Mani and Nina Venkatesh. Like Desinghu, Paris Olympian 24 -year -old Natraj won his second gold medal of the day with a time of 26.09 seconds in the men’s 50m backstroke.

Desinghu has won a total of 9 medals in these games with 2 gold medals on Monday. He has earlier achieved five gold (200m freestyle, 100 meter butterfly, four times 100 meter freestyle relay and 50m freestyle and 4 x 200m freestyle relay). This talented swimmer also has a silver (50m butterfly) and a bronze medal (four x 100 meter relay medle). The total number of medals of Natraj has increased to eight.

Karnataka continues to fire

He has previously won five gold medals in 200m freestyle, four times 100 meter freestyle relay, four times 100 meter freestyle relay medle, four times 200 meter freestyle relay and 100 meter backstroke. He has won a silver medal in 50 meter freestyle. Karnataka was given two more gold medals by Shaun Ganguly (2: 06.61 minutes) in men’s 200m medle and Vihitha Nayana (31.46) in women’s 50m backstroke. Kushagra Rawat of Delhi topped the men’s 800 meter freestyle with a time of 8: 12.89 minutes, while Sanvi Deshwal (2: 24.90 minutes) of Maharashtra finished first in women’s 200 meters. Karnataka has so far won 18 out of 37 gold medals in swimming. He has won a total of 33 medals in this game so far.
