Teams to Win Consective ICC Men’s Trophy: Team India created history on 9 March under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. Team India defeated New Zealand by 4 wickets in the title match and captured the Champions Trophy after 12 years. The Indian team won the Champions Trophy for the third time and became the most champions trophy winning team. Captain Rohit Sharma had a big hand in this title win. Batting brilliantly, he scored 76 runs off 83 balls with the help of 7 fours and 3 sixes and won the Player of the Match Award.
Under Rohit’s captaincy, Team India captured the ICC Trophy for the second consecutive year and created a new record. Rohit showed the charisma that Mahendra Singh Dhoni could not do under his captaincy. In fact, in the year 2024, under the captaincy of Rohit, the Indian team won the T20 World Cup 2024 title and now won the Champions Trophy. In this way, Rohit Sharma became the first Indian captain to win 2 ICC titles in two consecutive years.

This has happened for the fourth time in the history of cricket when a team has captured 2 ICC Mains Trophy in a row. Team India is the third team in the world to do so. Before Team India, only the West Indies and Australia teams could do this big work. The West Indies won the 2 -consecutive ICC ODI World Cup title in 1975 and 1979, while Australia won the Champions Trophy in 2006 and then the 2007 World Cup next year.
Australia is the only team to do this twice. Australia won 2 ICC Trophy in 2023 in 2023. The Australian team won the ICC World Cup 2023 title after winning the World Test Championship i.e. WTC 2023 under the captaincy of Pat Cummins. The thing to note here is that Australia defeated India in the final of both the tournaments.
