Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti 2025: Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti is being celebrated across the country today i.e. on 6th January. The birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh is considered an important day among the people of the Sikh community or rather it is a very special day. Guru Ji was born on 22 December 1666 in Patna, Bihar to the ninth Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and Mata Gujri. Let us tell you that Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti is calculated according to the lunar calendar. This year his 356th birth anniversary is being celebrated on 6 January.
Establishment of Khalsa Panth
Guru Gobind Singh Ji founded the Khalsa Panth in 1699. Guru Gobind Sahib had asked the members of the Khalsa Panth to wear the Panj Kakar (five symbols). Which are as follows:
- Hair
- comb
- Hard,
- briefs
- saber

- Keep your promise – Guru Gobind Singh Ji says that if you give a promise to someone in life, then live up to it and follow it.
- Pardesi, Lorwan, Dukhi, Manukh di Yathashakti Seva Karni – It means that one should not hold back from helping any outsider, distressed person, disabled and needy people. Serve all of them first.
- Not to be proud of wealth, youth, caste or caste – This means that one should never be proud of youth, caste, wealth and religion in life.
- Memorizing Gurbani- It is most important to memorize Gurbani.
Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti is known as Prakash Parv. Guru Gobind Singh was a spiritual leader, warrior, philosopher and poet. Let us tell you that according to the Hindu calendar, Guru Gobind Singh Ji was born on the Saptami Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Pausha in 1723 Samvat.
