Bishop Peter Paul Saldanha led special Christmas prayers at Rosario Cathedral in Mangaluru, Karnataka.
Churches across the country and the world are decorated to celebrate Christmas. Special midnight prayers were offered in churches. In India too, pictures of Christmas celebrations have surfaced in many states including Goa, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu.
Sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik made Santa Claus from chocolate and sand at Puri Beach. At the same time, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also participated in the mass prayer at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Rosary in Kolkata.
Amidst all this, due to the Gaza-Israel War, Christmas is being celebrated normally in Bethlehem, the birthplace of Lord Jesus, for the second consecutive year. The Church of the Nativity built at the birthplace has not even been decorated.
