The central government has allowed the implementation of the National Glastic Outbst Flood (GSOF) Risk Mitigation Project in four states Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Uttarakhand. For this, the central government will spend Rs 150 crore. In the National Disaster Mitigation Fund (NDMF), the central government will give Rs 135 crore, while the state governments will have to pay Rs 15 crore. Union Minister of State Nityanand Rai announced this in a written reply in the Lok Sabha. According to the information, there are about 7500 glacial lakes in the Indian Himalayan region and the NDMA has finalized the list of 189 high -risk glacial bails for mitigation measures to reduce the danger arising from them.
