Looking at the records of the last several years, it shows that the Nifty has upsur down to 4 per cent on the budget day. In 2013, the union budget was presented on 28 February. The Nifty fell 2 per cent on that day to close at 5,681 points. The union budget was presented twice due to the Lok Sabha elections in 2014. The budget was first presented on 17 February. The Nifty had then closed down 0.40 per cent. Then the budget was presented on 10 July 2014. The Nifty fell 0.20 percent that day.

In the year 2017, the day of the Nifty budget was 1.81 percent

The budget was presented on 29 February 2015. The Nifty closed up 0.70 per cent that day. In 2016, the union budget was first presented on 1 February. The Nifty fell 0.60 percent that day. The 2017 union budget was presented on 1 February. The Nifty had rose by 1.81 percent that day. In the year 2018, the Nifty was closed with a slight strength of 0.10 per cent on the day of the union budget.

Nifty fell 2.5 percent on the budget day in 2020

In 2019, Union Minister Piyush Goyal presented the budget on 1 February. The Nifty was up 0.60 percent that day. The Lok Sabha election was that year, due to which the final budget was presented by Nirmala Sitharaman on 5 July by Nirmala Sitharaman. The Nifty fell 1.10 percent that day. The budget came on 1 February in the year 2020. The Nifty fell 2.5 percent that day. In 2021, Nifty jumped 4.47 per cent on the budget day.

In 2024, the market collapsed on both budgets

The budget of 2022 came on 1 February. The Nifty climbed 1.40 percent that day. The budget of 2023 was presented on 1 February. The Nifty closed down 0.26 per cent that day. The interim budget came on 1 February last year. The Nifty then closed down 0.13 per cent. On July 23, 2024, the Nifty closed down 0.12 per cent.
