Bank holiday: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has directed to keep open on Monday 31 March 2025. Banks will remain open even after Eid. These instructions will apply to all banks who handle government transactions. The RBI has taken this decision to properly settle the financial year 2024-25 transactions.
Why was the first holiday on 31 March?
In fact, on 31 March 2025, banks were to be closed in almost all states due to Ramadan Eid (Eid-ul-Fitr). Banks were to be open only in Himachal Pradesh and Mizoram. But now the government has ordered the banks to be kept open to continue the process of financial transaction properly.

Let us know that banks will remain closed in most states and union territories on 1 April 2025. It will remain closed due to the annual account closing of banks and the introduction of the new financed year like every year. However, banks in Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram, West Bengal and Himachal Pradesh will be open on this day.
