Zomato, Jio Financial Services may be included in Nifty 50 in March, BPCL, Britannia Industries may be out – zomato jio financial services may be included in Nifty 50 in March BPCL Britannia Industries may be out

Domestic brokerage JM Financial said food delivery company and restaurant aggregator Zomato Ltd. and financial services company Jio Financial Services are likely to enter the benchmark index Nifty 50 in the upcoming rebalancing. On the other hand, JM Financial expects that FMCG company Britannia Industries and oil company Bharat Petroleum Corp may be kept out of the index. Changes in the companies included in Nifty are going to be announced in the month of February 2025. This announcement will be effective from March 31, 2025.

Earlier, the brokerage believed that auto firm Eicher Motors would be kept out of the index in place of Britannia Industries.

Before the market closed with gains, experts bought these four stocks to make huge profits.

It is mandatory for a stock to be a part of the F&O segment and be included in the Nifty 50 index. The possibility of inclusion of Zomato and ZFS in Nifty 50 comes after NSE made the announcement. The announcement said that 45 stocks, including Jio Financial Services and Zomato, will be included in the Futures and Options (F&O) segment in November 2024.

Inclusion of Zomato will bring in indirect investments (passive inflows) of $620 million. Whereas inclusion of Jio Financial Services can bring in an investment of $356 million.

On the other hand, exit of BPCL and Britannia Industries could take out $212 million and $229 million respectively from the market.
