Yulia is Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister and Economic Development Minister since 4 November 2021.
Ukraine President Volodimir Jailonsky has recommended Deputy Prime Minister and Economic Development Minister Yulia Swiridenko to be the new Prime Minister of the country. Yulia is considered close to Jailonsky.
Jailonsky gave this information in a Facebook post on Monday. He said- He will nominate Yulia Swiridenko as the new Prime Minister, who will replace Dennis Shamihal, who held the post from 2020.
Jailonsky said that he wants renewal in the government. The deal to deliver natural resources in exchange for military cooperation of Ukraine and Trump administration was under the supervision of Swiridenco.
Swaridenko’s Prime Minister depends on the approval of Parliament. However, Jailonsky’s party ‘Servant of the People’ is in an absolute majority with 254 seats since 2019. Today, there may be talk in Parliament about this, but the date of vote has not yet come on the appointment of Swiridenko.
Opponents parties accused Jailonsky of misuse of power
Jailonsky said in the post that with Swiridenco, he has discussed plans to strengthen domestic weapons and social security.
At the same time, Jailonski’s opponents have questioned the move, they say that making Deputy Prime Minister Prime Minister is not a change.
Jailonsky has decided to make Swiridenco the Prime Minister to increase his powers. Opponents have also accused Jailonsky of misuse of power.
There was a deal between Ukraine-America on the rare economy material.
In February, there was a deal between Ukraine and the US over a 50% rare economy material (rare mineral). These included many prized and rare minerals including graphite, uranium, titanium, lithium.
They are used from Tesla’s cars to the rocket of spacex, from the Hovitzer cannon to the mobile chip. Trump was pressurizing the Ukraine government to give rare minerals to the US.
He said that if Ukraine needs American help, he would have to give rare minerals worth $ 500 billion to the US.
He had threatened Jailonsky that the US would stop giving more help to Ukraine if he did not do so. Jailonski agreed to the deal due to increasing attacks from Russia and the help of America in ceasefire.
Jailonsky visited the US in September 2024. During this, he spoke to the then presidential candidate Donald Trump on Ukraine Jung.
Trump came in support of Ukraine against Russia
Republican Senator Lindsay Graham, close to Trump, says the war is now at a decisive turn. Trump has come in favor of giving Ukraine military support against Russia. According to Graham, in the coming days, Ukraine will start supply of arms at a record level.
He said, “Putin’s biggest mistake was that he took Trump lightly. Now see, in a few weeks, heavy pressure will be made on Putin.”
Conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues for three years
The war between Russia and Ukraine continues since February 2022. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a military operation on Ukraine on 24 February 2022. Since then, the two countries have been attacking each other.
Ukraine on 8 July claimed that Russia had launched the biggest aerial attack ever on it. In the attack, Russia fired 728 drones and 13 ballistic missiles in several cities of Ukraine.
Earlier, the United Nations Human Rights Monitoring Mission (HRMMU) in Ukraine reported that in June this year, Ukraine killed the highest number of 232 people and 1,343 injured in the last three years.
According to the United Nations, in June 2025, Russia attacked Ukraine with ten times more missiles and ammunition than in June 2024.
At the same time, on July 12, Russia attacked Ukraine with 597 drones and 26 missiles, killing two people and injured several people. This was the fourth major attack of this month.
