Yuzvendra chahal: When Team India recently won the title of Champions Trophy in Dubai, a player was celebrating Team India’s victory by sitting in the audience gallery. Indeed, Indian leg -spinner Yuzvendra Chahal will return to Northamptonshire for the 2025 County Championship season. Chahal will join Northamptonshire in June after the IPL 2025 commitments are met with Punjab Kings. Chahal will play both in the county championship and the One-Day Cup. His first match is expected to be against Middlesex on 22 June.

In the year 2024, Chahal did wonders to take five wickets in his first match against Kent in the One-Day Cup and then a sensational performance in the county championship, taking 9 wickets for 99 runs against Derbyshire, which is the best performance of his first class cricket career. Thanks to his brilliant performance, Northamptonshire’s team managed to win continuously against Derbyshire and Leesterushair. With this, Chahal concluded the season with 19 wickets at an average of 21 in only four first class matches.
Chahal waiting for a return to Team India
The 34 -year -old Chahal may have been successful in winning the T20 World Cup title with Team India last year, but he has not played any international match since August 2023. He played his last international match on 13 August 2023 against the West Indies in Loderhill. More than 2 years have passed since he played ODI matches for Team India. He played his last ODI International match against New Zealand in Indore in January 2023.
