The passenger convenience center at New Delhi Railway Station is ready. It has been prepared quickly keeping in mind the festive season. On the occasions of big festivals like Diwali-Chhath, the number of passengers increases significantly at New Delhi Railway Station. Many times accidents have happened on such occasions. In view of the large number of passengers on special occasions, Railways has created a passenger convenience centre.
7,000 passengers can use this center at a time
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav inspected the Passenger Facilitation Center (Permanent Holding Area) on October 11. The capacity of this center is about 7,000 passengers. This means that 7,000 passengers can use this center at a time. With this, passengers will not have to face any hassle in reaching their train. Vaishnav said, “The modern passenger convenience center will provide a lot of comfort to the passengers during the festival season. Such passenger centers will be built at other stations also.”
Passengers will get convenience during festivals
Vaishnav said that the ticket counter has been improved. He told the media, “Every year during the festival season, the number of passengers increases significantly at New Delhi Railway Station. About two years ago, an experiment was conducted under which a temporary holding area was created. Now a permanent holding area has been created for such passengers who do not have reserved tickets.”
Ticketing area has been built in 2,860 square meters.
He said that the benefits of the Passenger Facilitation Center will be known during festivals. The Passenger Facilitation Center is divided into three parts. The ticketing area is 2,860 square metres. The area after that is 1,150 square meters. The pre-ticketing area is spread over 1,218 square metres. Every area has been separated from each other. This will not create a crowd situation. People coming and going from the main entry of the station will not have to face any kind of problem.
