Virat Kohli in ICC Champions Trophy 2025: The date of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is getting closer. Champions Trophy will start next month i.e. from 19th February which will be played under the hybrid model. The Champions Trophy will be played in Pakistan and Dubai. The Indian team will play all its matches in Dubai. At the same time, other teams will play all their matches in Pakistan except the matches against India. The tournament has been divided into two groups. Apart from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand have been kept in Group-A, while Afghanistan, Australia, South Africa and England have been kept in Group-B. The Indian team will start its campaign against Bangladesh in Dubai on 20 February. The last date to announce the team for the Champions Trophy is January 12. Except England, no one has announced their team yet. However, all the teams are expected to appear in the next 2 days.

Rohit and Virat’s magic will be visible

Indian fans are eagerly waiting for the Champions Trophy team. There is full hope that Rohit Sharma will get the command of Team India, while Virat Kohli’s playing is also considered almost certain. Even though both the star batsmen could not do anything special with the bat on the Australia tour, they have been the backbone of Team India’s batting in ODIs for many years. In such a situation, tremendous performance is expected from both the batsmen in the upcoming Champions Trophy. Virat Kohli first participated in the 2009 Champions Trophy and since then he has participated in 3 Champions Trophy. During this period, more than 500 runs have come from his bat.

Kohli has been waiting for 16 years

Virat Kohli has played a total of 13 matches in the Champions Trophy and scored 529 runs at an average of 88.16. Kohli’s record in the Champions Trophy is excellent but there is one feat which he has not been able to do since his debut in this tournament in the last 16 years. Yes, Kohli has scored 5 half-centuries in the Champions Trophy but till date he has not been able to convert his innings into 3 digits i.e. hundreds. In the 2017 Champions Trophy, Kohli had a great chance to score a century but he missed it by 4 runs. In that semi-final match against Bangladesh, he returned unbeaten after scoring 96 runs.
