Starlink internet launch in India: Jio Platforms Limited and Bharti Airtel have tied up with American industrialist Elon Musk’s company SpaceX to provide Starlink’s high-speed satellite internet service to their customers in India. Airtel Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal claimed that this is starting a new era of global connectivity to customers on partnership with SpaceX to provide affordable satellite internet service in India.
It has been in discussion for many years about giving internet through satellite. But there is a delay in adopting this technology in the Indian market, as it is allegedly costing. Reliance Jio’s group CEO Matthew Oman said, “Our cooperation with SpaceX to bring Starlink into India strengthens our commitment. It is a transformative step towards equal broadband connectivity for everyone.”
Oman told PTI, “We are expanding our reach by including Starlink in Jio’s broadband ecosystem and increasing the credibility and reach of high-speed broadband services in this AI (Artificial Intelligence) era. It is being empowered by communities and businesses across the country.”
This agreement enables Jio and SpaceX to find how Starlinks can pursue Jio offers. How Jio can complement SpaceX directly for consumers and businesses. The statement said that Jio will provide starslink solutions through its retail outlets as well as its online storefront.
According to the statement, Jio will not only offer starlink equipment at its retail store. Rather, the customer will also install a mechanism to support the service ‘Installation’ and ‘Activation’. According to IANS, Airtel said in its statement that Airtel and SpaceX will work together how Starlinks can increase Airtel’s network.
