Whether it is to open a bank or demat account, take advantage of a government scheme or any necessary financial transaction, Aadhaar card has become mandatory everywhere. In such a situation, if your Aadhaar card is lost, then it is bound to have trouble. But do not panic! Do you know what to do in such a situation? UIDAI helps online-offline
If you have lost your Aadhaar card or have forgotten the number, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) provides many easy ways both online and offline to retrieve your Aadhaar details. If your mobile number is link, you can get your Aadhaar number online using the “retriev Uid/Eid” option on the UIDAI website.
Get your base again
- If the mobile number is linked to Aadhaar, first go to UIDAI’s website: https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/retrieve- Eid-uid
- Then choose UID or Eid: Decide whether you want Aadhaar number (UID) or nomination ID.
- Fill your information like full name (as is in Aadhaar), registered mobile number or email etc. Then verify the captcha code and OTP.
- OTP will be sent on registered mobile/email. Complete verification by entering OTP
- Get Aadhaar by SMS: After successful verification you will get UID or Eid SMS. This service is free of charge.
What to do if the mobile number is not linked to Aadhaar?
- Go to Aadhaar Enrollment/Update Center
- Go to the nearest base enrollment or update center
- Give your information: name, gender, district or pin code, etc.
- Fingerprint/iris scan will be done
- If the information matches, the operator will give you print of e-aadhaar.
- However, for this he will charge you 30 rupees.
Another option
- Call UIDAI Helpline 1947 and talk to Customer Care
- Give him your name, dob etc. When the information is correct, you will be given EID.
- Call 1947 again and choose IVRS system. Enter Eid, date of birth and pin code. The Aadhaar number will be told on the information. This service is absolutely free.
What to do if your base letter is lost?
Visit Aadhaar enrollment center. Give your Aadhaar number or EID of 28 digits (which occurs in the Acknowledgment slip). This will be followed by biometric verification. After successful verification, you will be given a print of E-Aadhaar. However, for this you will have to pay a charge of 30 rupees.
