The maximum temperatures in the areas of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan are expected to increase gradually, while the areas of eastern and central India may see a drop in temperature.

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heatwave for Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Gujarat, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha. During the next 24 hours, the maximum temperature in Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan may increase by 1-3 degrees Celsius. There is no hope of relief from the heat in these states till May 1. There is no possibility of any significant change in the maximum temperature in the rest of the country.

During the next 7 days, there is a forecast of rain with thunder and strong winds in Northeast India. During this time winds can move at a speed of 40-50 kmph. On 26 April, there is a possibility of rains with thunderstorms in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya. Nagaland, Mizoram and Tripura may receive heavy rainfall on 28 and 29 April. Light to moderate rains may occur with thunderstorms in Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
Rain alert with strong winds here including eastern UP
The Meteorological Department said that during April 26-29, there may be thunderstorms from sporadic to light rains in eastern India and eastern Uttar Pradesh. During this period, strong winds are expected at a speed of 60 kmph at a speed of 40-50 kmph. Light to moderate rains are expected in Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal on 27 April. Today there is a possibility of hailstorm in northern interior Karnataka.
