Vodafone idea (vi): Vodafone Idea can give a shock to its customers soon. Vodafone Idea is the third largest telecom company in the country. VI may soon increase the rate of its 5G data plans. So far, companies like Jio and Airtel are also offering 5G service only with plans that have a recharge of at least Rs 299 and get 2GB daily data. VI is also adopting a similar strategy. Currently, VI’s 5G service is operational in only a few cities and circles, but the company says that by August 2025 it will start 5G in all its major circles.
Plans of more than Rs 299 will be expensive?
VI’s management says that 5G rollouts have reduced pressure on 4G network and users are getting better 4G speed. The company is currently giving 5G to users who recharge Rs 299 or more. It is getting unlimited data with 300GB high-speed data limit every month. But as the network coverage increases, the company is planning to charge more.
What will happen next?
VI plans to soon reach 90% 4G user population of India. For this, the company will need funds. The cost of VI is still more, which will need a loan from banks to maintain. In the result of Q4 FY25, it was observed that the company has rapidly cut its bank loan, which is a positive signal.
