Preparations for visit to Hemkund Sahib intensified
Preparations for visit to Sikh pilgrimage Shri Hemkund Sahib are continuing rapidly. Recently, an army team has returned to Govind Ghat after inspecting the route of Shri Hemkund Sahib. The team has mentioned in its report that Ram Dhungi from Govindghat to Ghangharia has almost a completely glacier due to snowfall, which the PWD (Public Works Department) will clean up.
The 6 km route from Ghangharia to Shri Hemkund Sahib is covered with snow, which ranges from 2 feet to 7 feet. The Army team presented the inspection report of the entire route to the Gurdwara Management Committee present in the gurudwara. There was also an important meeting between Shri Hemkund Sahib Trust and Army in this regard.
Snow removal work will start
It was decided in the meeting that a 25 -member team would reach Govind Ghat on 18 April. They will rest for a day and then leave for Ghangharia the next day. In Ghangharia, he will rest for three days and after that he will start the work of removing ice by departing Shri Hemkund Sahib. Army personnel estimate that they will remove snow from the entire route from 18 to 20 May, so that the doors of Shri Hemkund Sahib can be opened for common devotees on 25 May.
Let us know that Shri Hemkund Sahib, located in the Himalayan plains of Uttarakhand, is situated at an altitude of about 15,250 feet above sea level and is considered to be the highest gurudwara in the world. This place is not only famous for its grandeur and divinity, but it is also a very important center of Sikhs faith.
Pre -birth and penance of Guru Govind Singh Ji
Shri Hemkund Sahib is mentioned in the autobiography “Bichi drama” of Sri Guru Govind Singh Ji, the 10th Guru of Sikhs. In this, he has told that he did penance in the heights of the Himalayas as an ascetic in his previous birth. They say that by the command of God, they came to the earth and came to the destruction of unrighteousness and establishment of religion. This was Tapobhumi Hemkund, where he interviewed God by meditating.
Natural beauty and spiritual experience
Located on the side of the seven peaks covered with snow on the banks of the Hemkund lake, the site is a unique spiritual and natural beauty. The mountain around the snowy, the lake of pure water and the calm and purity of the gurudwara, gives the devotees experience the proximity of God.
Traffic and travel
The journey of Hemkund Sahib is difficult, but is considered extremely exciting and virtuous. The basis of the yatra is Govindghat, from where the devotees reach Hemkund via Ghangharia after fixing a climb of about 19 km. The journey usually occurs between May to October, when the snow melts and the paths open.
Service and reverence
In the Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara, servants are engaged in the service of travelers day and night without any selfishness. The tradition of anchor (food service) also runs continuously here. Every year lakhs of devotees come here and get the head at the Tapostha of Guru Govind Singh ji and get spiritual peace.
