13 people died due to floods that occurred in the Gwadalup river after heavy rains in the US state of Texas on Friday, while 20 girls went missing. According to local officials, the rescue team is still looking for missing people.
Larry Latha, Sheriff of Karvil County of Texas, said- We do not know when the rain will stop. I think the number of people who die will increase further by the time it is over.
Camp Mystic near Karvil, which is a girls summer camp, completely drowned in floods. Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick said that most of the children present in the camp have been evacuated to a safe place.
The camp does not have electricity and many children are still waiting for the rescue team. Officials said it is difficult to tell the exact figure of how many people are missing.





The risk of more rain in the next few hours
The Meteorological Department has warned that Texas and strong rains may occur in the next few hours. Texas Governor Greg Abbott said- We are using all the necessary resources to deal with the floods,
According to the National Weather Service, Karvil County received 5 to 10 inches of rain on Thursday morning and Friday morning, due to which the water level of the Gwadalup river in Texas increased from 7 feet to 29 feet in a few hours.
Power failure of 2600 houses due to flood
Due to rain, the river brought out the local drain and waterways, causing roads to drown. The trailer and vehicles were swept away. San Antonio’s emergency teams have started searching and rescue work through helicopters and drones. Flood says that this flood is a disastrous disaster.
The people present in the area told the local media that the flood water suddenly came and they had to save their lives by climbing trees. Electricity lines fell due to floods and about 2,600 houses in the vicinity of Karvil collapsed.
