35 -year -old Neelam Shinde, a resident of Satara district of Maharashtra, fell victim to a road accident in the US on 14 February. A car hit Neelam in California, after which she went into a coma. He is currently admitted in ICU. The driver, accused of this accident, has been arrested by the police.

Neelam Shinde’s father Tanaji Shinde said that he came to know about the accident on February 16, after which he has been trying to get a visa to go to America, but he has not been successful till now. He says that his daughter’s condition is critical and the family needs to reach there as soon as possible.

According to the family, Neelam Shinde’s arms and legs have been broken in this accident and have suffered serious head injuries. His uncle Sanjay Kadam said that the hospital management had sought permission from the family for brain surgery. He is currently in a coma and the family needs to be present there to take care of them.

NCP MP Supriya Sule came in front of help The Shinde family says that they are trying to book slots for visa application, but the next available date is said to be next year. Neelam had been living in America for the last four years and was in the final year of her studies. His family hopes that the government will soon help him so that he can go to America and reach his daughter.

NCP (Sharad Pawar) MP Supriya Sule has appealed to Foreign Minister S Jaishankar on social media to help Shinde’s father to get a visa. He said that this is a worrying issue and all of us should help together to solve it.

Sule said that by talking to the victim’s family, they have assured them that this problem will be resolved soon. Sule said that BJP leader may have political differences with Jaishankar, but whenever it comes to the help of an Indian student abroad, Jaishankar shows sympathy and proves to be very helpful.

Sule said that his experience with the Ministry of External Affairs has been good and he is always ready to help. He also said that he has also approached the US embassy in Mumbai.
