America’s newly elected President Donald Trump has offered many Canadians to join America after winning the presidential election. Now Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has bluntly told Trump on Wednesday that there is no scope for this merger.
Trudeau wrote on X-

no one about this scope Not that Canada will become part of the US. Workers and societies in both countries benefit from being each other’s largest trade and defense partner.
Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Jolie has also responded to Trump in strong words. He said that our country will not retreat due to fear of such threats. Trump’s statements show that his understanding of Canada is very weak. Our economy and our people are very strong. We will never retreat in the face of dangers.

Trump met Trudeau in Florida in November 2024 after winning the presidential election. During this time too, Trump had jokingly offered to make Canada the 51st state of America.
Trump said- Canada depends on our army
Earlier, while talking to the media in Florida on Tuesday, Trump said that you (Canada) should get rid of the artificial line drawn between the two countries. This will also be better for national security. This will be a big deal for Canada and America.
Trump said about Canada’s military spending-

They have a very small army. They depend on our army. But they have to pay for it.
However, Trump made it clear that he will not use any kind of military power to control Canada. He talked about using economic power instead of military.

Offer was given even after Trudeau’s resignation
On Monday, Trump had also offered Canada to become the 51st state of America. Then Trump made this offer through social media just hours after the resignation of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Then Trump had said that America can no longer bear any more trade deficit with Canada nor can it give any more subsidies. Canada desperately needs it for its survival. Trudeau knew this, so he resigned.
Trump made many controversial statements after victory
Donald Trump’s victory in the presidential election was decided on November 6 last year. Since then he has continuously given many controversial statements. Trump has talked about taking control of the Panama Canal and Greenland. Apart from this, he had threatened BRICS countries that if they traded in any currency other than US dollar, he would impose 100% tariff.
