Work is going on continuously on the much awaited Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project. A construction update has come regarding this project. While giving an update on Monday, National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), the company constructing this project, informed that more than 200,000 noise blockers have been installed on the 100+ kilometer route of Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train. . The noise blocker has been designed in such a way that noise is reduced. However, it has also been clarified that the spectacular view from the train has been preserved, thereby ensuring a smooth and beautiful journey for the passengers.
The blocker is 2 meters high and 1 meter wide
According to the news, the noise barriers being installed on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Viaduct are based on advanced Shinkansen technology. The noise blockers being installed on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Viaduct are based on advanced Shinkansen technology. These blockers consist of concrete panels, each 2 meters high and 1 meter wide, installed on either side of the viaduct. It has been specifically designed to solve the unique challenges of high-speed rail operations.
Aerodynamic noise is generated in bullet trains.
The basic function of these noise blockers is to reduce the noise caused by the high speed of the train. During the running of a bullet train, it produces aerodynamic noise from the interaction between the train and the air. Also, sound is produced when the wheels of the train come in contact with the tracks. The concrete panels are strategically positioned to reflect and distribute these sounds, significantly reducing noise levels.
The train body is made of double-skin aluminum alloy.
The train is designed to reduce noise inside. Its body is made of double-skin aluminum alloy, which helps in reducing the noise levels inside the train. The train’s long, sharp nose is designed to reduce aerodynamic drag, which also helps reduce the loud noise caused by pressure waves as the train exits the tunnel. In this project, more than 465 km of the 508 km long Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail line will be elevated, which will run on the viaduct.
