The people of Uttar Pradesh, who are facing inflation, are going to get a big shock again. From April this month, he will have to face the increased electricity prices. Electricity rates have been increased in the state after five years. From the April bill itself, electricity will be recovered from consumers as fuel surcharge. This will be the first time in the state when the electricity bills will increase decreasing every month due to the implementation of surcharge. Electricity rates in the state have been increased by 1.24 percent.
Actually, UPPCL has increased this as fuel surcharge. Due to the increase in this fuel surcharge fee, your electricity bill will decrease or increase on the lines of diesel and petrol every month. If you understand in common language, then you will have as much power load. Accordingly, the electricity bill will also increase or decrease.
Electricity will increase from April
This increased surcharge has been implemented from April. In such a situation, the electricity bill is not going to decrease in this era of scorching heat. The reason for this is that these days power consumption increases. Therefore, in the coming time, the increased electricity bill is almost certain. In such a situation, the pockets of electricity consumers are sure to be loose. Explain that in January, there is a high fuel of Rs 78.99 crore in electricity generation. This includes coal etc. In such a situation, surcharge will be imposed on this basis in the April bill. In the bill of May 2025, fuel surcharge will be imposed in the bill of May 2025 in view of the expenditure on fuel for power generation. In such a situation, now electricity bills will continue to increase every month.
Increase under this right
Recently, the Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission had empowered power companies under Multi-Year Tariff Regulation-2025 every month to fix Fuel and Power Purchase Adjustment surcharge. Under this right received from this commission, it has been ordered to collect fuel surcharge from consumers for the first time in the state. However, the Electricity Consumer Council has opposed the increase in electricity bills. President of UP Electricity Consumer Council Awadhesh Verma said that UPPCL owes Rs 33122 crore to consumers. UPPCL has made this increase without returning money to consumers. UP State Electricity Consumer Council will oppose it.
