Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh): Now a unique rule will be applicable in Andhra Pradesh. Till now, policies of producing fewer children were being adopted to control the population. But in Andhra Pradesh now emphasis is being laid on producing more children. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu himself said that a person can become a sarpanch, municipal councilor or mayor only if he has more than two children. He indicated that this would prevent population decline. Naidu said he would bring policies regarding encouraging people to have more children. “There was a time when people with more children were not allowed to contest panchayat (elections) or local body elections,” he told reporters at Naravaripalle here recently. Now I am saying that people with less children cannot contest elections. You will become a sarpanch, municipal councilor, corporation chairman or mayor only if you have more than two children.” According to the Chief Minister, North India may lose the advantage of stable fertility rates in about 15 years.

The concept of double income no kids is worrying.

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief said people of the older generation used to have more children, while the current generation has reduced it to one child. He also underlined that nowadays some ‘smart’ people are adopting the Double Income No Kids (DINK) concept. He said, “Your parents had four to five children and you reduced them to one. Now more sensible people are saying double income, no kids, let us have fun. If their parents had thought like they did, you would not have come into this world.

All countries made this mistake, we have to take a decision on time

Naidu said that all countries have made this mistake and we have to take a decision at the right time. He said that the importance of having more children was not emphasized earlier and the situation has now gone out of hand. Citing South Korea and Japan and European countries, he said that people in those places are not aware of the danger of population decline, but are only focused on creating wealth, increasing income and taking their countries forward on the path of progress. Is focused on.

Concern expressed over falling birth rate

Earlier this month, Naidu had expressed concern over the falling birth rate and said India should not repeat the mistakes made by other countries like South Korea and Japan, where the birth rate has declined drastically. The Chief Minister said that nowadays some couples shy away from having children because they do not want to share their earnings with others and want to use that money for their own pleasure. Naidu had said in October last year that there is a need for population management in Andhra Pradesh, because the number of elderly people will increase here. Naidu had said, “By 2047 we will have a demographic dividend, there will be more youth. After 2047, there will be more older people. If less than two children are born (per woman), the population will decline. If you (each woman) give birth to more than two children, the population will increase.”(Language)
