British PM Keir Starmer paying tribute to Ukrainian soldiers with Ukrainian President Zelensky in the Ukrainian capital Kiev.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer arrived on a visit to Ukraine on Thursday. Here he met President Volodymyr Zelensky in Ukraine’s capital Kiev. According to Reuters, during this period, a drone attack was carried out by Russia in Kiev, which was foiled by Ukraine’s air defense system.
The two leaders paid tribute in Kiev to Ukrainian soldiers killed in the war since 2022. Earlier, in a statement issued by the British government, it was said that Starmer will sign a 100-year agreement to strengthen security relations with Ukraine.
This 100-year agreement will include many issues including defence, science, energy and trade. The British Prime Minister said that this agreement is not just about today, but it also talks about investment between the two countries in the coming century.

Starmer’s first visit to Ukraine after becoming PM
This is Keir Starmer’s first visit to Ukraine after becoming Prime Minister in July last year. However, he visited Ukraine as an opposition leader in 2023 and has met with Zelensky twice at 10 Downing Street after becoming prime minister.
Earlier, Zelensky had said that he would also discuss with the British Prime Minister the deployment of Western troops in Ukraine to monitor the ceasefire agreement. French President Emmanuel Macron has also made such a proposal.

Britain will provide $16 billion help after 2022

Before the swearing-in of Donald Trump in America (January 20), Zelensky is continuously trying to strengthen partnerships with his allies. Since the beginning of the war, America has given assistance worth about $ 63 billion (Rs 5.45 lakh crore) to Ukraine.
On the other hand, Trump has been continuously giving statements against giving funding to Ukraine. Even during his election campaign, he had promised to end the Ukraine war one day. Although he did not give any details about it.

Conflict continues between the two countries in eastern Ukraine
