Since the executive order given by US President Donald Trump on 20 January 2025, his administration has started a campaign to remove women’s achievements from public records.
In this order, Trump described Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) programs as ‘illegal and immoral’. After this, NASA was ordered to remove every information related to women from his website.
The Pentagon has also removed information related to the historical achievements of women soldiers from online. Even the pages of women veterans have been disappeared from the website of Orulington National Semeter.
The Orrollington National Semeter is a major cemetery in the US.
Orvelian method to eradicate women’s history
The entire process reminds the Nobel 1984 of the author George Orwell, in which the government erases uncomfortable facts by putting it in a memory hole.
Nobel’s hero Winston Smith works in the Ministry of Truth, where history is converted into lies. This step of Trump administration is also the same.
Writer Anna Funder says that women are hard work behind the success of many men in history.

O’Shensey also contributed to Orwell’s famous book Animal Farm, but his name is nowhere. It was he who advised Orwell to write a symbolic story instead of direct criticism on Stalin.

Funder says that eradicating women from history is a well thought out strategy of patriarchal system. This makes men the main character and women are helpful or invisible.
Orwell’s wife was not only saving her life, but she was also a family -earned member. He worked in the Censorship Department of Britain during World War II. The writer believes that Trump’s policies give this message to disgruntled men.
