Trump has defended Netanyahu by posting on social media.
US President Donald Trump has criticized the ongoing corruption trial against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
He has described it as a political conspiracy. This can harm the ongoing dialogue with Hamas and efforts to deal with Iran’s nuclear threat.
Trump posted on Truth Social on Saturday and wrote,
What is happening with Netanyahu in Israel is very wrong. He is a hero of a war and together with the US, he has done a great job in stopping Iran’s dangerous nuclear program.
Trump further said, “This is madness and a joke of justice. America spends billions of dollars every year in the help of Israel. We will not tolerate it. Netanyahu should be freed from the matter, they have even more big tasks.”

Three separate cases registered against Netanyahu
The case against Netanyahu began in May 2020. He is under trial in three different cases of fraud, betrayal and bribe in Israel.
1. Case 1000 (Gift Case): Netanyahu is accused of taking expensive gifts from Hollywood producer Arnon Milchan and Australian billionaire James Packer.
These include cigars, champagne, jewelery etc. worth $ 2 lakh. It is alleged that Netanyahu gave him political benefits instead.
2. Case 2000 (Media Deal Case): Netanyahu is accused of dealing with positive coverage for himself from the publisher of the Yediot Ahronot newspaper. Instead, he approved the condition of passing the law weakening the rival newspaper Israel Hyom.
3. Case 4000 (BJC Telecom Case): In this case, Netanyahu is accused of benefiting the telecom company named BJK and in return, the owner Shaul Aloevich’s news portal Valla was published in his favor.
Netanyahu has described all these allegations as false and inspired by politics. Currently, the decision in this case is not expected to come at least 2026. After this, Netanyahu can also appeal to the Supreme Court.
According to the Israeli law, he does not need to leave the post of Prime Minister until the Supreme Court blames Netanyahu.
Netanyahu filed a case in international criminal court
Apart from domestic cases, Hague -based International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued an arrest warrant on Netanyahu for war crime and crime against humanity.
It is alleged that he targeted ordinary citizens in Gaza and used hunger as a strategy. Although this case is different from corruption cases, it has also affected the image of Netanyahu at the international level.
Case filed against Netanyahu’s wife Sara
Prime Minister Netanyahu’s wife Sarah Netanyahu has also been in legal disputes in different cases.
1. 2018 catering scam: Sara was accused of getting more than 1 lakh dollars of expensive food from outside by lying in the Prime Minister’s residence between 2010-2013. She accepted some allegations under an agreement in 2019 and escaped from going to jail by repaying about $ 12500 and paying a fine.
2. 2025 Witness threatening investigation: In February 2025, the police registered a case of threatening a witness to Netanyahu’s case on Sara. Criminal investigation is underway by accusing them of threatening the witness and obstructing justice.
3. Case of abuse from employees: In 2016, an employee working in Sara’s house filed a harassment case against her. The employee won in this case. He received 42 thousand dollars of compensation for victory.
