TRAI warning

How to avoid digital arrest?

TRAI has warned mobile users about the increasing digital arrest incidents in the country. These days, people call scammers in the name of TRAI or any other government agency and implicate them in a digital arrest fraud. Last year, scammers cheated crores of rupees through digital arrest fraud. Scammers call people in the name of TRAI or any other government agency and intimidate them and threaten to implicate them in the case.

Where and how to report?

TRAI has told the users in its warning that no agency makes such a call to users. In such a situation, users should ignore any such call. Also, the number from which such a call or message is received, report it to the Chakshu module of the communication partner portal. By doing this, the information of the scammers will reach the Department of Telecommunications and they will be blocked.

You can also report such fake calls and messages through the Communication Saathi app. Recently the Department of Telecommunications (DOT) has launched the Communication Saathi app for Android and iPhone users. You can report any unwanted activity here by logging in the app using your mobile number and OTP.
