Anuj Rawat
Anuj Rawat: In the IPL 2025 mega auction, experienced wicketkeeper batsman Anuj Rawat was bought by Gujarat Titans team for Rs 30 lakh. Earlier he was associated with RCB team. There is still a lot of time left for IPL 2025 to start. But even before this, Anuj Rawat left the Ranji camp of the state team going on at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi and joined the practice session of his IPL team Gujarat Titans in Surat on Monday. Delhi has to face Saurashtra in Rajkot in the first match of the second round of Ranji Trophy.
Anuj Rawat joins Gujarat Titans team
When Indian Cricket Board officials are expecting the players to give priority to the red ball, then Rawat’s participation in the IPL camp a week before the second phase of the Ranji season is a clear indication of what are their priorities? Gujarat Titans have started their preparations for IPL 2025 with a training camp in Surat. Players like Anuj Rawat, Ishant Sharma, Jayant Yadav, Kumar Kushagra, Mahipal Lomror and Arshad Khan along with coaches and sports staff have participated in this camp.
Anuj Rawat did not give information to the State Cricket Board
When Ashok Sharma, convening secretary of the state team selection committee of Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), was asked about Rawat, he said that he has no information that Anuj has applied to participate in the IPL team camp. The ongoing Ranji Trophy camp here has been abandoned. He should have taken approval from the State Cricket Board for this. We have two Ranji matches left and the camp is going on in Kotla. I don’t know who gave him permission not to participate in the Ranji Trophy camp.
Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan lost the central contract due to one mistake.
Anuj Rawat has so far scored 1435 runs in 34 first class matches. He has 888 runs in his name in 32 List-A matches. Apart from this, he has scored 318 runs in 24 matches of IPL, in which he has a half-century in his name. Before Rawat, last year, KKR’s IPL-winning captain Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan had lost the BCCI’s central contract due to giving more importance to IPL than domestic cricket. Iyer and Kishan learned from their mistake and are playing for Mumbai and Jharkhand respectively in all formats in the current season.
