The Test format was now decided to leave another veteran player who is the former captain of the Sri Lanka team and the brilliant all -rounder Angelo Mathews. The 37 -year -old Mathews will say goodbye to the format after the Bangladesh team played in the first match of the 2 -Test series played during the Sri Lanka tour in June. In a statement released on his behalf, Mathews said that this is the best time for him to leave Test cricket, in which the future generations will now take this responsibility, I will continue to play in the limited overs format.

For me, this is the most favorite format of cricket but now the time has come to say goodbye. It is a matter of honor and pride for Sri Lanka to play in this format for the last 17 years.
Mathews has such a performance in Test cricket
Talking about the performance of Angelo Mathews in Test cricket, he has scored 8167 runs in 118 matches at an average of 44.62, including 16 centuries and 45 half -century innings. The last time in Mathews White Jersey will play in the first match of the Test series against Bangladesh starting on June 17, in which he will have a chance to overtake Virat Kohli in terms of scoring the most runs in Test format at home, which he is just 13 runs away.
