The new expressway constructed between Lucknow to Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh is going to bring a perfect solution to the problem of traffic. The National Highway Authority (NHAI) has announced toll rates for this expressway, the biggest relief is that the annual pass will be provided for the drivers traveling by this route daily, which will cost only Rs 3,000. From this pass only a toll of about 15 rupees will have to be paid daily, which will make the expenses economical for the passengers.
There will be tremendous change in the journey
After the construction of this new expressway, the distance of about 90 kilometers from Lucknow to Kanpur will be covered in just one hour, while currently it takes about three hours due to traffic jams and slow speed to complete it. 6 lane is being constructed on the expressway, which can also be increased to 8 lanes according to the need in future. This modern road will be able to handle the growing pressure of vehicles for the next 50 years.
Toll charges and facilities
According to NHAI’s announcement, one side toll for general passengers will be Rs 125. However, the annual pass holders will get huge discounts in this toll, which will cost only about 15 rupees daily. In particular, this feature will be available for non-commercial vehicles such as private cars, bikes and passengers. The toll fee for commercial vehicles will be fixed separately and there is no arrangement for their exemption at present.
Traffic will be reduced, relief will be available from old road
The construction of the new expressway will reduce about 50 to 60 percent of the traffic running on the existing national highway. This will significantly reduce the problem of jam on the old road and passengers will experience smooth travel. According to NHAI, more than 40,000 vehicles will pass on the expressway daily, which will make the traffic between the two cities quite easy and faster.
For the convenience of passengers in this expressway, facilities like CCTV cameras, EV charging stations, and ambulances will also be provided so that this route can become more safe and convenient. Currently construction work is going on fast and it is expected to have perfection soon.
