India The number of domestic air travelers is continuously increasing. As the middle class is getting bigger in the country, the number of people taking flights is also increasing. The number of air passengers has also increased in the month of April. Indian airline companies have provided 8.45 percent more air services on domestic routes in April in April. These airline companies provided air services to 143.6 lakh passengers during this period. This reflects the increasing demand for air traffic.
Indigo’s share
According to the latest data from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), IndiGo’s stake in domestic air traffic was the highest 64.1 percent. This was followed by Air India Group (27.2 percent), Akasa Air (five percent) and SpiceJet (2.6 percent). DGCA said in its monthly report, “During the January-April, 2025, domestic airline companies ensured the movement of 575.13 lakh passengers. This figure was 523.46 lakhs in the same period last year. It recorded an increase of 9.87 percent on an annual basis and 8.45 percent on a monthly basis. ”
SpiceJet’s OTP lowest
The number of domestic air passengers was 143.16 lakh in April, while it was 132 lakhs in the same period a year ago. Four metropolitan airports in Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai were counted in the context of ‘on -time performance’ (OTP) of domestic airline companies. Indigo’s OTP was 80.8 percent respectively, while the OTP of Akasa Air and Air India Group was 77.5 percent and 72.4 percent respectively. According to the data, SpiceJet’s OTP was the lowest 60 percent.
