A recent survey report said that 45 percent of companies have expressed their desire to appoint new people (freshers) for the first half of 2025. It also states that the demand for workforce in Indian telecom sector is stable. According to PTI news, Teamlies Edtech Career Outlook Report (January-June 2025), in which 649 companies were surveyed across India, revealed that the telecom sector remains an important employment creator, as the region is converting into 5G network, cloud-design and advanced cyber flexibility.
Hybrid job profiles are becoming
According to the news, the report states that telecom roles are getting mixed with IT and data functions, making hybrid job profiles, which were not present till a few years ago. Although the region saw a slight decline with the desire of appointing 48 percent of the reported freshers reported in the previous half (July-December 2024), the pace remains strong due to demand for special roles. As the world is celebrating World Telecommunications Day, the Indian telecom sector continues its stable pace in the demand for the workforce, estimating the appointment of 45 percent of freshers for the first half of 2025.
The most demand of engineers
Delhi (49 percent), Ahmedabad (41 percent) and Coimbatore (35 percent) have recorded the highest demand of radio frequency (RF) engineers. The demand for network safety analysts is 48 percent, 43 percent and 38 percent respectively in Bangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur. Field technical engineers are required in Hyderabad (55 percent), Kolkata (48 percent) and Indore (43 percent). Pune (44 percent) was at the forefront of his focus on junior Devops engineers, followed by Gurugram (40 percent) and Kochi (35 percent). Among other cities, 51 percent in Chennai, 45 percent in Nagpur and 37 percent in Chandigarh recorded the highest demand for cloud network engineers.
Freshers can get different opportunities
Teamlies Edtech Career Outlook report states that freshers may get various opportunities in the field, but with domain-specific skills, especially in network security, cloud computing and devops. Certification in RF wireless engineering, cyber security and cloud network architecture has become rapidly relevant. Teamlies Edtech founder and CEO Shantanu Rouge said that although the sector is expanding, employers are hiring not only to increase operations, but also to prepare their network for the future.
