ILT20 League
Currently, there is a lot of buzz about ILT20 2025 in the United Arab Emirates i.e. UAE. The season started from 11 January in which the 8th match was played on 17 January. There was heavy rain of runs in this match but in the end the team chasing the target was successful in winning. This exciting match was played between Sharjah Warriors and Dubai Capitals in which there was heavy rain of runs from both the sides. Batting first, Dubai Capitals scored a big score of 201 runs losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. For Dubai, the ace batsman Shay Hope played an unbeaten inning of 83 runs on 52 balls. In this innings, 3 fours and 6 sixes came from Hope’s bat. Apart from this, captain Sikandar Raza contributed 28 runs and Rovman Powell contributed 27 runs. Captain Tim Southee took 2 wickets for Sharjah Warriors.
Avishka Fernando wreaked havoc
Sharjah Warriors, who came to chase 201 runs of Dubai Capitals, had a great start. The opening pair of Jason Roy and Johnson Charles put more than 50 runs on the scoreboard in just 5 overs. After this, in the next over, Johnson Charles became the victim of Olly Stone after scoring 37 runs. After this, 26 year old Sri Lankan batsman Avishka Fernando, who came to the crease, took charge and attacked with the very first ball. Avishka Fernando completed her half-century in just 16 balls while batting in a dynamic manner. With this he became the batsman to score the fastest half-century in ILT20. He broke the record of Pakistan’s Azam Khan. Azam had scored a half-century in 18 balls.

Avishka Fernando was busy scoring runs when Jason Roy walked in in the 8th over. Jason played an inning of 26 runs. Even after the opening pair returned to the pavilion, runs continued to flow from Fernando’s bat. He got full support from Rohan Mustafa at the other end, taking advantage of which the Sri Lankan batsman played a stormy innings of 81 runs in just 27 balls and achieved the target of 202 runs in just 18.1 overs. During this stormy innings, Fernando did a great feat of scoring 27 runs in 1 over of Gulbadin Naib. In this way, the shameful record of bowling the most expensive over in the history of the tournament was registered in the name of Gulbadin Naib. Avishka Fernando played an inning of 81 runs at a strike rate of 300 in which he hit 6 fours and 8 skyscraper sixes. In this way, Sharjah team won the match by chasing the target of more than 200 runs in about 2 overs.
