Learn about Veer Savarkar

Savarkar was born on May 28, 1883 in Nashik, Maharashtra. He played the bugle of rebellion against the British rule from puberty. Savarkar established organizations like ‘Abhinav Bharat’ and ‘Free India Society’ in London. He inspired Indian youth for the armed revolution. Savarkar’s fear was also in the mind of the British because he was not only a revolutionary, but also a sharp thinker. Due to this, he was arrested in London in 1910. In 1911, he was sentenced to 2 life imprisonment and sent the cellular jail of Andaman, ie Kalapani. It was believed that however, the inhuman tortures of the British in Kalapani could not suppress Savarkar’s revolutionary views, they did not give up there either. Savarkar wrote poems on the walls of the prison, which later became an inspiration for freedom fighters.
