Former Australian cricketer Bob Cowper has passed away. Bob said goodbye to the world at the age of 84. He was struggling with cancer. The family of Cowpar is survived by his wife Dale and daughters Olivia and Sera. Cricket Australia informed about the death of a legendary cricketer on X.

Cricket Australia wrote – Today is mourning the death of Australian cricket Bob Cowper. Bob was a brilliant left -handed batsman to score five Test centuries for Australia, including a magnificent Ashes triple century in MCG in 1966. Our condolences are with Bob’s family, friends and his comrades.

Bob Cowper was a left -handed batsman to play 27 Test matches and scored 2061 runs at an average of 46.84. During this, he scored five centuries and 10 half -centuries. He played Test cricket for Australia with players like Bob Simpson, Dag Walters, Ian Chappell and Bill Laurie. Bob Cowper has a record that can never be broken. In fact, in the 1965-66 MCG Ashes Test, Cowper batted for 12 hours and scored a historic innings of 307 runs, which was the first triple century made on Australian soil.

Goodbye to Test cricket at a young age

He retired before the age of 28. After Victoria’s Sheffield Shield victory in 1970, he focused his entire focus on business. Test legendary and popular commentator Kerry O’Kif said RIP Bob Cowper.
