World Test Championship Final 2025: The final of the World Test Championship 2025 will be played on June 11 at the historic ground of Lord’s. There will be a match between South Africa and Australia to win the title in the final. According to The Times report, Lords will get about four million pounds (about Rs 45 crore) lower revenue for the upcoming ICC World Test Championship Finals due to India failing to qualify for the upcoming ICC World Test Championship. The Merilebone Cricket Club has reduced the financial gains expected to a great extent, which shows India’s financial impact in the game of cricket.
MCC reduced ticket prices
MCC had originally fixed the ticket for the World Test Championship Final with an estimate of India’s arrival in the finals. When it was decided that India would not reach the finals, the MCC changed the plan and reduced the ticket price. The report states that the decision to bring flexibility in prices for the World Test Championship final was taken this year. Now tickets are being sold between 40 and 90 pounds. These are about 50 pounds cheaper than the original price. This has reduced revenue.
Indian team had done poorly
Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, the Indian team lost the Test series 0-3 against New Zealand at their home. This is the first time when the Indian team has a clean sweep at home in the series of three or more Test matches. Then Team India’s performance in the Border-Gavaskar Test series against Australia was very poor. India won the first Test of this series, but after that its car derailed. The defeat in the Test series from New Zealand and Australia proved to be a big obstacle in reaching the finals.
