The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is preparing to launch a new Aadhaar app. The new app promises to give easy, safe and user-friendly experience for users. Let us know when the new E-Aadhar app will be launched and what will be special in this.
What is special in the new E-Aadhar App?
The new ‘E-Aadhar App’ will have many modern technology. Such as AI, face ID login and QR code verification. This means that users will now be able to scan their face and login.
Aadhaar users will be able to update personal details like their name, address and date of birth directly on the app. Also, you will be able to download Aadhaar, see update history and also order PVC Aadhaar card for home delivery.
Secure verification from qR code
The new Aadhaar app will have a built-in QR code scanner. This will allow immediate checking of Aadhaar details. This will reduce the risk of fake ID. Apart from this, app will also facilitate users to share their Aadhaar information safely. This will reduce the need for photocopy.
Mobile number update still offline
Everything is not getting digital. UIDAI said that to change the mobile number related to Aadhaar, you still have to go to the Aadhaar Seva Kendra. Users will have to fill the correction form and complete biometric verification before linking the new number.
UIDAI says that this step is necessary for security, as mobile numbers are very important for banking and government services. For this, to get biometric detail updates, you will also have to go to the Aadhaar Seva Kendra.
Beta version and final launch
The beta version of the new Aadhaar app was launched by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav in April this year. UIDAI is currently improving the app based on user feedback to launch it completely. The new app is set to launch the new app by the end of this year i.e. December 2025.
Digital identity will be easy
This step is part of an attempt to improve digital identity management in India. The current Maadhar app only offers basic services such as Aadhaar download and address updates. Many users have complained of disturbances and limited capacity in it.
The new app will solve these problems and give millions of citizens modern, AI-capable experience. That too without long queues in service centers.
