Court sentenced the thief to plant 200 saplings
Jharsuguda: Manas Ati, who lives in Jharsuguda district of Odisha, was arrested by the police on 25 December. He was accused that he stole six electric poles of an electricity supply company, which was more than two lakh rupees. The case was registered with the Kolabira police station.
Court punished unique punishment
On Monday, the Odisha High Court granted him bail with a unique condition. The court ordered that Manas would have to plant 200 saplings in their village and surrounding areas and take care of them.
Apart from this, he will have to attend the police every 15 days and do not have to tamper with the evidence. The court also said that the district nursery will arrange the plants and the forest department, police and revenue officers will help in this work. Manas will have to plant trees like mango, neem and tamarind, which will be beneficial for the environment.
In December, a thief was vandalized
Earlier in December 2024, there was a news of brutally beating four youths on suspicion of theft in Balasore district of Odisha. In this incident, 32 -year -old Trilochan died on the spot. The incident was seriously injured in the incident.
Police had said that a person named Ajay Das was stolen in a clothes shop in the Sara village, after which Trilochan and his associates were suspected and the villagers had tied the four youths with an electric pole at Odishala Chowk.
