Shreyas Iyer, Ishaan Kishan
Indian Test Team: The Indian Test team has completely changed after the retirement of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin. Now the command of Team India is in the hands of young Shubman Gill. At the same time, Rishabh Pant has got the responsibility of vice -captain. Sai Sudarshan and Arshdeep Singh, who performed well in the IPL in the team, have also got a chance. On the other hand, the selectors have kept Shreyas Iyer and Ishaan Kishan out of the Test squad. For a long time these players have been out of the Indian Test team. In such a situation, there has been a big question mark about the test career of these two players.
Shreyas Iyer did not get a chance
Shreyas Iyer made his Test debut for the Indian team in the year 2021. He then scored a total of 811 runs for India in 14 Tests so far, with a century and five half -centuries from his bat. But then due to poor performance and injury, he was out of the team and was not selected to tour Australia. Now he has not found a place for the tour of England.
Ajit Agarkar said this
Speaking to Shreyas Iyer, Chief Selector of the Indian team Ajit Agarkar said that Shreyas has done well in the ODI series. His performance in domestic cricket has also been good. But right now there is no place for him in Test cricket. Agarkar’s statement makes it clear that Iyer will remain out of the Indian Test team for some time to come. Iyer plays in the middle order and a player like Karun Nair has got a chance in the middle order for the England tour.
Ishaan Kishan is out of the Indian Test team since 2023
Ishaan Kishan made his Test debut in Test cricket in the year 2023 and since then he has been out of the Test team. In the current IPL season, he is playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad and has also scored 325 runs from his bat, including a century. In some matches of the IPL, he also took over the responsibility of wicketkeeping, but the selectors have given Dhruv Jurle and Rishabh Pant a chance for the tour of England as wicketkeeper in the Indian team. Kishan was not a part of Team India even on Australia tour.
