Eng vs Afg: England may not win against Australia in their first match in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, but team opener Ben Docket managed to rob the Mahfil. Ben Docket scored an innings of over 150 runs against Australia in the match played on 22 February and made a record of making the biggest personal score in the Champions Trophy. Docket broke the world record of Nathan Estal (145*), playing a brilliant innings of 165 runs off 143 balls thanks to 17 fours and 3 sixes. However, this record of Docket could not last long and Afghanistan’s opener Ibrahim Jadaran broke. Jadaran did this big feat while playing 177 runs in the match against England on 26 February in Lahore. In this match, Ben Docket has achieved a big place as soon as he scored 4 runs.

In fact, in the 8th match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Afghanistan scored 325 runs thanks to Jadaran’s brilliant innings of 177 runs. In response to this, Ben Docket and Philip Salt started England’s innings. Docket scored 4 runs in the second over and completed his 1000 runs in ODI cricket. He equaled Kevin Pietersen in cases of England scoring the fastest 1000 ODI runs.
Poisoned in the club of veterans
He achieved this feat in 21 innings. He is the fourth fastest player to do so in terms of innings. He equaled veterans like Kevin Peterson and Vivian Richards. Docket is the 8th batsman to complete 1000 runs in 21 innings in ODIs. Babar Azam also completed 1000 ODI runs in 21 innings. English openers have also become the third fastest English player to score 1000 ODI runs in the lowest balls. Dock could not play a big innings against Afghanistan and was dismissed by just 38 runs.
