Israel has discovered the body of Hamas leader Mohammad Sinwar. Sinwar was killed in an air strike last month.

Mohammad Sinwar was the head of Hamas’s military wing and was hidden inside a tunnel at the European Hospital in Gaza. On 13 May, the Israeli army and intelligence agency Shin Bet launched an accurate attack there, killing Sinwar and the commander of the Rafa Brigade with him.

IDF said that the body was recovered from the tunnel under the hospital in the search operation after the attack. Sinwar and Shabana goods and some important documents have also been found from there.

Mohammad Sinwar was the younger brother of Yahya Sinwar, the prominent leader of Hamas. Yahya was the mastermind of the attack on Israel on 7 October 2023, which was killed by the Israeli army last year.
