Surya Jungurgarengkit was appointed as the acting Prime Minister of the country on Wednesday. 70 -year -old Surya replaced the suspended Prime Minister Pitagtarn Shinavatra, who was removed from the post on 1 June.
It is alleged against the Partagarna Shinavatra that he spoke on a phone with a big leader from Cambodia, who became public and was considered a violation of the moral rules of the ministerial post.
The Thai government said on social media on Thursday that in the first meeting of the new cabinet, it was agreed to make Fummatham a caretaker Prime Minister. The meeting took place when King Maha Waziralongcorn of Thailand administered the oath to the new ministers.
PM’s audio leaks, Army Chief criticized
PM Pitgtarn’s video of a conversation with the leader of Cambodia was leaked. In this, PM Pitgtarnarn, Cambodia leader Hun Sen calls Hun Sen ‘uncle’ and the Thai army calls the chief as his opponent.
There is a border dispute between Cambodia and Thailand. In such a situation, the opposition party made it an issue. The PM was accused of bending in front of Cambodia and weakening the army.
Due to this comment during the border dispute, his popularity declined due to this comment, some fellow parties left together and thousands took to the streets in protest. The court said that the Pitgtarnarn has violated the morality of the ministerial post. He then removed him from the post.
About 20 thousand people attended the demonstration outside Bangkok’s Victory Monument and Government House on Sunday against PM Shinavatra.

Thaksin’s sister Yingalak Shinavatra won the historic election in 2011 and set a record for Thailand’s becoming the first woman Prime Minister. He launched a large -scale rice purchase subsidy scheme, which made the rural voters happy but the government treasury was burdened with heavy burden.
Once again the popularity and policies of the Shinavatra family began to knock the army and traditional royal pro -powers. Large protests started against the Yingalak government, in which millions of people landed on the streets of Bangkok. In May 2014, Yingalak was also removed by the constitutional court on charges of misuse of power and later the army attacked and took power in its hands.
After the 2014 military rule, the political strength of the Xinavatra family started to see weakening. But in 2023, Thacasin’s daughter Pitgtarn Shinavatra began an attempt to return to power under the Fei Thai party.
The Paitagtarne was sworn in as PM in August 2024 at the age of just 37 years.
10 months PM Pitgtarn Shinavatra
In August 2024, the Paitagtarne was sworn in as Prime Minister. After this it was felt that the Xinavatra dynasty made another comeback to power. But this return did not last long. A case was registered in the Constitutional Court against the Paitagtarn and was removed from the post only after 10 months.
The Shinavatra family has become a permanent pattern of Thailand politics by repeatedly coming to power and then getting out of controversies.
The Shinavatra family in Thailand is extremely popular among rural areas and poor sections, but the influence of army and royal forces in Thailand politics is so deep that the governments of the Xinavatra dynasty do not last long. This battle of power repeatedly pushes Thailand towards instability.
Thaksin and his family supporters believe that every time the army use courts and political systems to demolish democratically elected governments. On the other hand, the Shinavatra family is accused of putting the country in financial crisis due to misuse of power, corruption and popular policies.
